Tips for CBA games

Team games
Its helpful if you work together, if you have a weaker civilization then you have your chance to get kills easier.
DON'T FEED! Try to remember what civilization beats you and don't feed them, if your pinned in to your base then stay put also!

Have villagers?
Well if you are winning in the game then you are going to want to build rams, build as many workshops as you can in a bunch and pound rams out.

If you are loosing and stuck in your base you can do a defensive technique called tower tech.

Tower tech consists of a tower with walls around it facing north, east, south, west.

When you have built that you garrison your troops inside of the tower, then get them to leave it. If you have placed the walls correctly then your troops should of become trapped. Repeat this process to make yourself very hard to beat (even khan) when you have 400 + troops.

Eagle Warrior

 

Hit points:100(Mayans),60(Aztecs) 

Attack:9+4(Mayans),9+8(Aztecs)

High armor but low pierce armor

A unit which is available exclusively to only two civilizations, namely Aztecs and Mayans which is very powerful in raiding and destroying buildings.

Where to be used:- Acts as a counter against all types of cavalry(except Cataphract). Very very effective in raiding.So its acts as a counter to those civs with cavalry(like Huns and Spanish etc.).

When to be used:-In dark age itself these two civs have an advantage because of its increased line of sight.Most people exploit the fact that this unit is extremely cheap.It can be very effective if you are pursuing a fast castle strategy so that you can make more no. of eagle warriors than knights.So my advice would be;hit fast castle age and start pumping eagle warriors from 2-3 barracks.Combination of an onager and 10 eagles can win the game for you in 23-25 mins.

In a long game:-Important researches to be done include the smithy ones,the elite research and either el dorado(Mayans) or Garland Wars(Aztecs) whichever is applicable.Use eagle warriors with the combination of arbalests and monks for an effective army.

Additional strategies in Age of Empires:-
If you have aztecs then you should go for a dark age rush strategy with 4 militia + 1 eagle(scout) in the dark age.Reach feudal age in around 17 mins then castle age in 21-22 mins.Then raiding with eagle warriors will surely win the game for you.

Precautionary measures:-As you are doing a fast castle you are vulnerable for feudal rush or tower rush,So make sure you either wall your resource points,make towers or go for a dark age tush strategy(Attack is the best defence remember).

Counters for eagle warriors:-The best counter is champions.Other counters are special units like huskarls ,samurai,berserk, teutonic knight etc.The only cavalry unit which can help is Cataphract.Ranged units like arbalest and skirmishers also help

Turks civilization

                                                                   

      This Civilization is stronger in the castle age and it can finish the game as soon as possible if the player knows how to play this civilization well. Let us see what kind of rushes we can do using the Turks civilization.

1) Archer Rush : The Turks gold miners are 15 % faster,So they can create archers more in the feudal age itself since the archers require gold more (45).

2) Castle Rush : The unique unit of Turks is Jannisary which has high attack (18) than any other unit in the castle age has the range of  "8" while the Town center has range only "6". There is a bug in the game which will not allow the Town centers to increase their range by blacksmith upgrades.so the jannisaries can take down the Town centers and end the game in Castle age itself.

3) Light Cavalry rush: After giving the castle age upgrade,while the age upgrade is going on,we can create scouts from the stable.The Turks have free Light Cavalry and Hussar upgrades,so as soon as we reach the castle age the scouts will turn automatically to light cavalry, it reduces the time of creation. By using light cavalry , we can take down the lumberjacks and miners of enemy.

4) Imperial rush : The Turks has free Chemistry research which is one of the lengthiest research in the game,so as soon as possible we reach the Imperial age our chemistry research is automatically done. so we can create Bombard canon from seige workshops which can take down the enemy trebucheut very easily and it forms area damage,so it kills army too. It is very useful when the enemy is attacking our base with his trebucheut .By building archery range we can create hand canoneer and there is no need of building castle to create Jannisary since they both have more or less same power.

Turks have other few advantages like

1) Gun powder research costs 50%
2) Gun powder units create faster (team bonus)
3) Unique technology artillery helps the bombard canon to have +2 range which makes them the longest range bombards in the game.

When the Turks run out of Gold, it is hard for them to play the long duration games since they don't have the halberdiers and Elite Skirmishers.

Basic Anti Units

When gold is nowhere to be found and you are getting only few amount of gold from the trade units then the best units to be used are

1.Light cavalry
2.hussar
3.halberdier
4.Elite Skirmisher

The basic anti units for mostly all the units in the game are

1.halberdier:
       It is the basic anti unit for all the mounted units in the game.Based on the civilizations after full upgrades in blacksmith the attack of the halberdier varies..

a)  Aztec civilization did not have halberdier research but their unique technology "Garland wars" makes their attack to 12

b) Celts halberdier is quicker than the any other civilization halberdier

c) Japanese halberdier is having attack "10" like all other civilizations but they are faster in attack because of their civilization bonus.So Japanese halberdier is the strongest among all the civilization halerdiers.

      halberdiers kill mostly all the mounted units but cataphract is stronger against infantry so halberdiers are weak against the cataphract. If your enemy produces large mass of halberdiers, the best anti unit against them is the Teutonic knight.It easily kills 7 halberdiers.Champions also do the job but not efficient like Teutonic knights.
 
2.Elite Skirmisher
        It is the basic anti unit for all the ranged units. After the gold got over , the food and wood units ( halberdier and skirmishers ) serves well. the halberdiers counter all the mounted units and skirmishers counters the ranged units. With few siege unit support we can take down the enemy.

when the enemy creates large mass of skirmishers the best anti units are the mounted units. In the lengthy games Hussar does the job well since it costs only food.
            



3 basic steps to win the game


There are 3 basic steps involving in strategy games 

1. Build your economy and make it steady
2. Build your army
3. Raze the enemy

 But there are another 3 steps to win the game easily if you are not familiar with the above 3 steps

If you are not good in building economy than your enemy then

1. Age up fast with less villagers and make them to collect the respective resources need to create army. for example if your going to create archers in feudal and you have 20 villagers...send 7 villagers to wood, 8 villagers to gold and 5 villagers to food.since archers need wood and gold,put more villagers on wood and gold.

2. Use your army unit to kill the enemy villagers and try not to loose your army.It is very important to keep your enemy busy on tackling your army than build his economy.On the meantime you have to build your economy well to age up fast and build more army.

3.Scout the enemy continuously and put the anti units for the enemy's army instead of putting the same army of your enemy.Create army continuously while the battle is going on to have an advantage.
